The Brief
A new build manor house of high specification! This project required a simple audio visual solution, high quality home network and a Lutron lighting control system throughout the house and grounds. Lighting was very important to the client but when we first met only a basic design had been put together by the electrical contractors. Further to demonstrating how we work and providing example lighting designs for key spaces in the property Finite were appointed to undertake the full lighting design and control package as well as the audio visual and data solutions.
Design
Working closely with the clients interior designers Finite Solutions provided detailed Auto CAD drawings of the lighting layouts throughout the house and grounds. This was accompanied by lighting circuit schedules which defined the scope of the Lutron lighting system, complementing the style and overall cost of all the architectural and decorative fittings throughout the house.
Our designs were also supported by mood boards of each room which provided examples images of various styles and lighting moods we were looking to create in each room. This helped the client’s envisage how the completed installation would look in their home.
Lighting Specification
The Lighting specification proposed was all discrete minimally intrusive plastered in fittings for all architectural lighting and was predominantly sourced from Orlight and Linea light.
Decorative fittings was sourced from a variety of suppliers in conjunction with the superb inteiro designers to create statement pieces in primary areas and to further complement the interior design.
Lighting Control
A Lutron lighting system was installed throughout with various metal finishes to keypads to suit the interior design of each room and full engraving to all switches for quick, simple operation by the family.
In addition to lighting scene setting per room, there are a number of whole wide setting recalled from single buttons to illuminate the whole house ready for a party or entertaining and to switch on holidays modes and other security functions when the family are away from home.
The Lutron system is also fully integrated with a Crestron smart home control system allowing selection and control of lighting throughout the house via touch screen panels, clients smart phones and tablets.
End Result
The client is delighted with the enhancement to his home provided by the lighting throughout the home and in particular the landscape grounds. The Simplicity of operation across such a large property and the grounds has also been highlighted as a major benefit.
