Luxury Apartment Building Communal Cinema

As part of the The Makers development on Nile street in London by the McLaren Group we were contracted to deliver a high quality communal cinema room including all design and installation of the AV system and acoustic interior fit out.

Having worked together previously on communal cinemas rooms we were given an interior design visual and concepts by the site interior designers and our team then designed an soundproof room shell so loud movies will not disturb the surround living accommodation.

The interior finishes of track tensioned acoustically transparent fabric and drapery were then built up within the sound proof zone.

Ease of use in a communal room is particular important with guests booking the room out via the concierge. The concierge has control of the room temperature, lighting and selecting a suitable source – Blu-ray etc via a Control4 app on a desk mounted iPad and the guests are provided with a Control4 Halo remote which allow them control over volume and the selected source whilst they are using the room. A Netflix and Disney account are provided by the building management and an in room HDMI input socket allows guests to plug in their own games consoles or media streamers etc making the room easy to use but flexible to cater for different users needs.
