The Brief

Our clients purchased this incredible central London duplex after two previous owners had started development works 8 years ago but the project was never completed. Working within the boundaries of the existing cabling in place our clients were looking for a simple yet powerful solution to operate the properties blinds and curtains, lighting, door entry, heating and cooling and home entertainment systems.

Discretion was also incredibly important as the interior design scheme and the clients large art collection dictated that technology was completely hidden where possible.

Having had Control4 and Lutron in previous properties the clients really liked both these systems and they were to form the core of the technology solution.

The Solution

To deliver on our clients requirements a Lutron system was installed throughout using white Palladium keypads alongside flush in wall mounted Control4 touch panels for the most subtle and discrete look.

Sonos music streaming via Sonance in ceiling speakers and plaster in speakers was implemented for ease of use and again discretion in the key areas of the building. A pair of active B&O floor standing speakers in the main living area add a high quality music solution for entertaining and fit well in the design of the wider room.

TV’s are all linked via a central Wyrestorm 8 zone 4k video switching allowing all screens to view Sky, CCTV and Apple TV.

Silent Gliss blinds and curtain treatment are provided to most windows to ensure privacy during the day and black out at night.

The Control4 Smart system provides simple control over the following functions:

TV and music systems
The Hidden drop down cinema system
Door Entry
Heating and Cooling via a Janus integration driver to the BMS system
Silent Gliss blinds and curtains
Lutron lighting
Texecom Intruder Alarm

The End Result

Ultimately the project looks fantastic with almost all technology baring bedroom TV’s being completely hidden from view and the attention to detail of integration with the architecture and interior design really has paid off.

The clients find that due to the scale of rooms and windows and the complex layout of the building the automation system makes the home much easier, more convenient and comfortable to live in.
