Forming a large unused basement area in our clients holiday home in Cornwall, the brief for our project was to create a high quality cinema room to seat 12 people in comfortable Everyman styled seating with high quality cinematic performance and very simple operation.
Working along side our client, who is also an interior designer, we produced 3D models of the room layout and after several options and alternatives we settled on the design featured. Key elements of the design were staggered fabric lined walls to hide all speakers and acoustic treatments, two rows of Everyman cinema style seating from Infinity seating in bespoke fabric, a screen wall with low level walnut cabinetry to house the amplifiers and central equipment and a large bulk head to house the projector at the rear of the room.
To delivery the impressive cinematic performance a Dolby Atmos 7.4.2 systems was installed utilising Sonance reference 2 in wall and ceiling speakers and sub woofers, Arcam AVR550 processor and 429 amplification, Screen research 10 foot wide acoustically transparent 2.35:1 aspect ratio projector screen and the incredible Sony 760 laser 4k projector.
A Lutron lighting control system provided simple mood lighting selection and a Control4 smart system allows completion operation of the audio visual system, lighting and air conditioning from a simple to use iPad interface and smart hand held remote control.
Our clients were blown away by the end result, all delivered in a 6 week period few work, which delivers on all their requirements with a stunning interior finish and superb audio and video quality.
A really great room and fantastic project to work on.
