The Brief

The brief was to convert the clients basement TV room in their home by the sea into a state of the art Cinema room with seating for 12 people. We were required to provide a detailed technical design, fabric wall and a state of the art cinema.

The Design

Our client is an interior designer who took complete control of the look and as you can see from the photos has designed a fantastic looking room. We assisted by producing detailed cad drawings and 3d renders of the room to work out where to hide away all the speakers and other AV hardware. The room features full acoustic treatment, fabric walls, two rows of bespoke tiered seating with a custom made full width cabinet for storage and to house the AV. The design included a fabric wrapped bulk head at the back of the room to conceal the large projector.

Equipment specification

The impressive cinematic performance was achieved by incorporating a Dolby Atmos 7.4.2 surround sound system consisting of Sonance reference 2 in wall and ceiling speakers and subwoofers. An Arcam AVR550 processor was chosen alongside 429 amplification, a Screen research 10 foot wide acoustically transparent 2.35:1 aspect ratio projector screen and an incredible Sony 760 laser 4k projector.

A Lutron lighting control system was used for the mood lighting and Control4 was chosen to provide overall control of the audio visual system, lighting and air conditioning from a simple to use iPad interface and smart handheld remote control.

End Result

Our client was amazed by the performance of the cinema and the high standards that we adhere to. The timescales were short, but we achieved a 3 month turn around from design to completion as requested by the client.

The end result is a fabulous room that is packed with the latest technology that is completely hidden from view.
