U2 Media Room

The Brief

Our client wanted to achieve a room with high design merit that did not feel like a dedicated cinema room but could perform to a high standard for enjoy sporting events and films with family and friends.

Specification

Working alongside the projects interior designers Finite Solutions integrated a drop down screen research 9 foot wide projector screen and due to the ceiling height an extra drop projector lift to lower the Sony projector from the ceiling when required to the necessary height.

The Audio system features B&W in wall and in ceiling speakers and subwoofers and Anthem processing and amplification for powerful surround sound performance.

Lighting is controlled by a Lutron Graffik Eye running 6 circuits of lighting in the room.

Control of the lighting and audio visual system is via the Control4 iPad app and smart remote.

Lighting

The lighting design features John Cullen up and down firing wall lights, Linear LED strip to the ceiling coffer below the floating cabinet under the screen and narrow beam in ground lights shining up the curved walls which were positioned either side of the screen.

All lighting is colour changeable via the Lutron keypad and Control4. The design is flexible to suit the various uses of the room and really creates a wow impact factor on entering the space.
