The Brief
Our clients were looking to transform a playroom in to a cinema room during refurbishment works in advance of renting out their home when they moved abroad. A complete turn key solution was required to complete all interior design, fit out, electrical and audiovisual works in the room in order to transform it in to a comfortable relaxed media room for enjoying sports, games and movies.
The Design and Fit Out
With a clear vision in mind our clients gave us a brief and after surveying the room our team produced 3D visuals and mood boards of the proposed wall upholstery, carpet, paints and door furniture.
Equipment
Epsons fantastic value for money 9400 4k HDR projector was installed with an acoustically transparent 1.1 gain Projecta screen for a colourful and bright image that would allow the room to be used with the curtains open and lights on as well as in complete darkness for movies. B&W 600 series in wall and in ceiling speakers, 2x B&W sub woofers behind the sofa and a Yamaha AVR provide Dolby Atmos 5.2.2 sound perfectly suited to the rooms size/ layout and deliver superb performance for the budget.
Space was limited so an AV rack could not be used, instead a pull out AV shelf in the custom cabinetry ensure the equipment is neat and accessible.
Lighting is controlled by Lutron’s RA2 wireless system. Both the lighting and Silent Gliss curtain track plus the rooms heating and audiovisual system are operated by the Control4 smart remote and app making everything very simple to use.
