System Rescues On The Rise
20% of Finite Solutions projects in 2016 involved the assessment and rectification of poor smart home and home entertainment system installations which had been undertaken by AV installers and electricians who were inexperienced and unable or unwilling to deliver on their promises.
The perceived complexity of the smart home installation is often underestimated which leads people to select the lowest priced quote for a given system type thinking the skill, team and experience required to deliver a successful installation is secondary to choosing the right equipment. Unfortunately, this is not the case and large full house smart home installations need to be designed, managed and installed perfectly in order for the system to be robust, reliable and simple to use upon completion irrespective of the equipment that is used.
To ensure you will be pleased with your completed smart system insist on clear concise sales documentation detailing exactly what the system will do (a kit list and paragraph of explanation is nowhere near sufficient detail), full demonstration of the specified system, examples of previous similar project case studies, insist on seeing the companies AV rack building and testing facilities, ensure the company has in house project management, installation, programming and support and also ensure the installer has worthy credit history, is CEDIA registered and finally has the man power to provide on going support to your project on completion (i.e. if they are working on another job you don’t have to wait until its finished to get any service!)
