Ultra HD Bespoke Home Cinema in Cheshire

“A bespoke cinema installation in the basement that features groundbreaking audio visual experiences with Ultra HD video and calibrated surround sound.”

Project Location: Cheshire
Project Cost: £80,000
Categories: Bespoke Home Cinema

As part of building a luxurious new home our client wanted to have a dedicated Ultra HD home cinema installed in the basement. Following a visit to our Leeds Show House and demonstration of the various levels of equipment, seating and acoustic options available; a budget was agreed to deliver not just the audio visual solution but a full turnkey package from the point the concrete shell was created and waterproofed by the main contractor.

Room Design

Sketch up 3D models were produced to provide the client with a clear vision of the proposed rooms layout and finishes. The 3D design was then worked through in Autocad to produce the construction drawings for the fit out contractors and the finishes of the wall panelling, paint and carpet etc were coordinated with the clients main house interior designers, Uber.

Room Fit Out

Upon the main contractor completing the concrete basement shell and the building above becoming water tight; our fitiout team started on site forming the stud work frame, insulating with rock wool and fixing double layers of acoustic plasterboard sandwiching green glue acoustic compound which provided a high level of sound proofing for the room.

Next seating staging and the front screen wall and side and rear wall upholstery panel frames where fitted and the coffered ceiling detail created. The room was then plastered and decorated ready for final fit.

Final involved the installation of all AV equipment as below plus 4x lighting circuit (ceiling coffer, star lights, steps lights and down lights), upholstered wall panels, silk carpet and the 6x signature cinema seats.

Upon the completion the video system was ISF calibrated and the audio system calibrated to THX Ultra standards with variety of test material. The system was then connected to the wider house smart system to deliver audio and video from the central equipment rack plus control of the whole system and the lighting and heating in the room all from the clients iPads and iPhones.

End Results

The completed room looks and sounds fantastic, providing a completely enveloping cinematic experience.

The clients are delighted with the “Turn Key” package that Finite delivered after the design had been approved as they are very busy people and it was of upmost importance to deliver a customised bespoke solution without requiring their continuous input.
