Linn Kivor Music Storage

The central hub of the system is the Linn Kivor music archiving server. The Kivor is a pitch-accurate hard-drive based CD archiving system.

It is the high quality CD storage system available, capable of storing and playing back up to 500 hours of uncompressed music and can be independently accessed in each room.

When loading CDs, Kivor will automatically access the internet and download disc, track, artist & music genre details to a personal database. CDs can then be accessed using the in-wall keypads in each room allowing simple selection of music.

High Quality Speakers Throughout The Home

Given that the clients key requirement was the absolute highest quality for the budget available Finite Solutions opted for conventional bookshelf speakers over in-ceiling speakers.

Linn LK140 power amplifiers produce a huge sound for the small Katan speakers located in the Kitchen, Lounge and Dining room. Linn Sweetspot speakers installed in the en-suite bathroom act as a sub zone to the bedroom, controllable through a Basik 3 sub zone keypad.

The cinema room then integrates into the system giving access to all the stored music but through a 5.1 multi channel fully active Espek system.

Great For Entertaining

In addition to the Kivor, two Linn Pekin tuners provide high quality radio. This allows two different radio stations to be listened to in the house at any one time and the preset stations can be browsed through using the in-wall keypads.

All the equipment is discreetly hidden away in a cupboard under the stairs with the only accessed being required to add new CDs to the Kivor.

A pair of B&W WM6 speakers outside act as a sub zone of the Kitchen, again powered by a Linn LK100 power amplifier. These weatherproof speakers are great for summer barbeques and other outdoor entertaining events.
