Simple access to high quality stored music

Given the clients requirement to store large amounts of music in a reliable fashion, the obvious choice was the iMerge Soundserver. The 250GB iMerge stores around 400 albums at CD quality and connects to the internet to download track listings and album artwork.

A wireless PDA linked to the system allows the client to browse through albums by artist, album or genre with album cover artwork displayed on the screen. Because it is wireless, the client can browse music and skip tracks anywhere, whether it be sitting out on the decking, or with their feet up on the sofa.

The main living area comprises of 4 high mounted Anthony Gallo spherical speakers and an MJ Acoustics Reference 200 subwoofer discreetly positioned in one corner of the room.

All the speakers were wired for during the build of the cabin so that no wires were visible and that the aesthetics of the rustic cabin were not compromised. All the equipment was located in the adjoining out house to keep everything out of sight and as discreet as possible.

Music on the lake

For the summer months when the family will be spending more time outside by the lake there are also a pair of B&W WM6 speakers mounted outside for music on the decking.

The outside area can have separately streamed music to that being played in the cabin. Also the additional Wi Fi aerial allows the client to control music from the PDA whilst out boating on the lake.

Overall the client has been extremely happy with the quality, reliability and functionality of the system.
