Your Frequently Asked Questions.

What are hard disk archives?

Hard disk archives allow storinge thousands of CDs, DVDs, home movies, and photographs.

They are quite simply computer hard drives that are capable of storing huge amounts of data in a choice of uncompressed or compressed formats.

The most common type of archive is the CD archive with machines such as the Imerge S2000 The other major benefit of the archive besides ease of storage is the ability to distribute the music to multiple locations simultaneously so that each member of the family can listen to a different track, or watch a film, in a different room at the same time.

Hard disks archives make browsing your CD or DVD collection easy as they utilise simple menus displayed on your television, allowing you to search your collection for artists, genres or albums or even tcreate play lists of your favourite tracks. The onscreen menu also displays the full track listings and album covers by automatically downloading them from the internet!

Hard disk archives can also be linked to a wireless network which allows you to use a PDA or touch screen controller such as an AMX Modero panel to link to the archive. This allows you to fully display all of it contents including cover art on the hand held screen from the comfort of your armchair.
