With the above connected smart systems, a smart home security system will automatically know if you are at home or away and will adjust the lighting appropriately, turning off all the lights during the day and turning on holiday mode lighting at night to give the impression you are at home. Should an intruder enter your garden the smart system will turn on lighting both externally and internally ( to give the impression you are at home) and send you email and text alerts so you can check your CCTV feed and take action if needed. When you are at home the system if an intruder is detected in the garden the smart system will pause what you are watching on TV (and mute any music playing) and display the CCTV images from the camera nearest the position the intruder was detected thus giving you time to move to a safe room in the house and alert the police.
