Since our conception in 2002 Finite Solutions has continued to steadily grow in to one of the largest and best custom installation companies in the UK by providing exceptional customer service and delivering outstanding projects on budget that deliver beyond our client’s expectations.
Finite Solutions was started by Oliver Lisles, Morgan Barke and Simon Mathieson in 2002 after attending Leeds University together and sharing a common love of music, films and computing. Whilst at university and immediately following leaving all three directors worked in relevant industries gaining knowledge and experience prior to starting the company. Simon worked for Image Audio in Leeds a high end HiFi and home cinema shop, Morgan worked as a website designer and IT engineer and Oliver worked for his father electrical contracting business. All three skills sets were and still are essential to provide the skills our industry requires.
A year after University Finite Solutions was born and initial started proving installation services for Simon’s HiFi shop Image Audio. This work continued for 12 months until our first website was launched and we ventured out on our own to find clients and deliver the types of home entertainment and automation systems we had been learning about and installing over the last year. We also then joined CEDIA, the industries governing body and completed the required training and examination to ensure our skill set was complete.
The company slowly grew and took on additional employees and we moved in to a converted cinema as our main office as well as taking on a further director in Fraser Stride to help gain more marketing experience for our brand reach out to more clients. At this time we also purchased and developed our first show home, an apartment in Leeds city centre which allowed us to show new clients what was possible and the standard of our workmanship. This was a great success and set us apart a company truly dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
Over the next few years our cinema and multi room entertainment and automation projects would go on to win more industry awards than any other UK based company and featured in countless design and home magazines which was a tremendous achieving for a still very young company.
In 2007 we had outgrown our show flat in Leeds and decide we need to have more space to show the best of what we could provide for our clients. We purchased an incredible property in Yeadon in Leeds which had fallen in to disrepair and spent the next 12 months completing renovating and redeveloping what is now the Uk’s largest and most prestigious home entertainment show home set out as a real home to give our clients a feeling of how our systems would integrate in to their own properties. This has proved to be hugely successful and is a credit to the determination and hard work put in by every member of the company over a very gruelling years work.
After receiving more and more work in London we decided to open a new London based office in Maida Vale in 2008 headed up by former employee Phil cotton who became a new director for the company. Since this time the London office has steadily grown and continues to hold the high standards of service and workmanship we are known for.
